Gisela Jimenez Duran

Biologist with a PhD in Immunology and an MSc in Pharmacology with a 9-year career as a published research scientist in both industry and academia international environments. Areas of expertise include molecular genetics, neuroimmunology, autoimmunity and immunometabolism. The latest being the focus of her PhD, where she identified and published a novel molecular mechanism that unravels how metabolic reprogramming of immune cells can drive inflammation via mitochondrial dysfunction.

Additionally, she published other peer-reviewed papers in immune modulation and inflammation at a cellular level, as well as in cancer research. Her latest role as a formulation scientist in clinical biochemistry research, combined with being a patient who suffered from IBS, microbiome dysbiosis and SIBO, motivated her interest in understanding formulation in the food supplements market, and developed a deep passion for nutrition and non-toxic integrative health.
